The Velcro EMEA division, with a staff of approx. 600 employees in 7 locations, is accountable for the production, sales, final customization, quality assurance and logistics of its solutions across Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Business Development Manager (m/f)
Flexible Packaging EMEA

 

 

Key responsibilities

The objective of the role as Business Development Manager is to manage and grow the company’s innovative closure system within the EMEA flexible packaging market.

 

  • Identify and undertake strategic market initiatives
  • Maintain an understanding of competitors’ products and pricing
  • Screen potential business deals by analysing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; assisting in resolving internal priorities
  • Collaborate with Regional and Global Business Unit leadership to develop and execute winning sales strategies focusing on the targeted accounts
  • Prospect, identify and develop new client opportunities and expand existing client opportunities
  • Create and cultivate a sales pipeline
  • Build credibility, trust and client perceived value by working with the client in a consultative manner
  • Leading and motivating regional sales organizations as the advocate of the Packaging SBU, exhibiting thorough product and market knowledge and using a consultative sales approach throughout the process
  • Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Build exceptional relationships with all internal groups (Global Leadership, Regional Sales and Marketing, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality) across the organization to ensure seamless selling of our products and to establish clear expectations for resource alignment and support
  • Build excellent relationships internally and externally on various decision making levels and across relevant stakeholders
  • Report on results, on successes & failures, on opportunities & threats, in line with the company reporting procedures
  • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Intensive travelling within the EMEA region
  • Direct report to the EMEA Sales director, based in Germany

Expertise and experience

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or economical education or equivalent work experience
  • Sales experience in international B2B environment, ideally in the (flexible) packaging industry
  • Understanding and knowledge of packaging machinery (form fill& seal machinery)
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Experience in working from in an home office
  • Fluent command of English and German is necessary, French would be an asset
